Warrant
Then and Now
July 2004
Released: 2004, Sanctuary Records
Rating: 3.0/5
Reviewer: Celtic Bob

I have to ask first. Why? Warrant are a great group and one that I support (I just bought the ReMasters of their first 2 just for the bonus tracks). They don’t have enough material to warrant yet another G.Hits type package. Did they even have a say in this? Is this a cash in where Joey and Steven are back in the band?

The lineup on this cd features the “Non-Original” band and the tracks from the first few cd’s are live recordings. It was interesting for me to hear these as I lost track of them after ULTRAPHOBIC. That cd had a couple of good tracks but it just wasn’t Warrant. The followup to that was even worse. Back to the cd itself….. Out of the 12 tracks on the disc I found myself skipping the studio ones and listening to the live stuff with the exception of “Family Picnic” and “Followed”.

For someone unfamiliar with Warrant then this is NOT a good starting point. This is for Die Hard fans who want everything with the Warrant name attached to it. Personally I’d rather rare stuff or better yet a new studio album.
