Written In Torment
Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes
April 2013
Released: 2013, Glorious North Productions Rating: 5.0/5 Reviewer: Metal-Rules.com UK Team A one man act ‘Written In Torment’ lack nothing. Not extra band members, nor expert extreme metal talent! Starting as a drummer, Leviathan, went on to learn guitar, before bass, and finally his brutal black metal vocals. Influenced by the best of black metal and classical Levithan cuts cut throat black metal with similar complex beauty as classical music. Levithan sites his influences as Mozart to Abyssos. Mid album the beautiful ’O Fortuna’ starts as a typically brutal black metal track before blossoming into graceful moments. This album is a must buy for fans of complex and professional sounding black metal that still maintains the raw edge all black metals fans desire. From gritty guitar to guttural vocals to moving melody. All perfectly executed and timed. ‘Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes’ is a masterpiece of metal. For fans of black metal acts Taake, Emperor, Mayhem, Immortal, Carpathian Forest, Dark Funeral, and Abyssos, and thrash metal! Review by Sarah Angelise ![]()
