Swedish legends Witchery should need no introduction. With their no nonsense, tongue in cheek blackened thrash metal and on this, their 6th album, they show no signs of deviating from that sound.
I’ll confess to not being a huge fan of the band, however whenever I listen to them I cannot help but enjoy them.
The album contains 11 tracks which do not disappoint. Well crafted, blackened heavy/thrash metal with some quality riffage. There is great delivery on both music and vocals with a bright and full sounding production. There’s no shortage of catchy choruses and plenty of hooks in the riffs.
Its shortcomings as “just another Witchery album” are perhaps in turn its greatest strengths and this is essentially Witchery doing what Witchery do, and doing it well for that matter. There’s not a whole lot more to say really. Check out the tracks “Netherworld Emperor” and “Nosferatu” and judge for yourself.
