Witchery
Symphony For The Devil
October 2001
Released: 2001, Music For Nations
Rating: 3.7/5
Reviewer: El Cid

Here we have Witchery’s third full-length release (not counting the Witchburner EP). The band itself has shows a nice evolution here adding better melodies and riff work to the relatively simple songs they had been putting out. This band has some thrashy influence I can’t quite put my finger on along with and undeniable black metal feeling to make a nice mix. Black metal purists might regard this CD as something to avoid but in my opinion it is worth a listen.

The opener for this album, “The Storm” is probably my favorite Witchery song to date, although in close second comes the ultra-fast “Inquisition”. In all, I consider this to be the best Witchery to date, the previous albums had not been bad, but they were just not good enough to make you stay with the band, this time, I’ll be waiting for their next release.
