Whitemare
Snider
May 2012
Released: 2011, Blackdream records Rating: 3.5/5 Reviewer: Metal-Rules.com UK Team Thrashy speed rockers from Brighton, Whitemare are a striped down raw rock'n'roll band, not to confused with the quiet little sleepy town that shares their name up in Cambria. Formed in 2008, this is their first major release after their first 5 track EP. Their debut album, SNIDER, shows a lot of promise. There’s lots of hardcore punk styled drumming, the musicianship is tight considering this was recorded in 2 days total. Whilst I like the playing, the vocalist may not be to everyone's taste: Johnsons vocals are nothing special, but he sure can screech well. Songs like "Pissed" would be good to headbang too on a whiskey fueled night. Given the nature of the music, the running time is short, but is more than made up for with number of tracks and aggression put in to the playing. They sound like they would be a great night out live! Review by: Neurie ![]()
