The fine people at Perris release another volume in the ongoing HOLLYWOOD HAIRSPRAY series. Featured on this volume are 16 great tracks by artists from the world over. From the time you put it on its almost like stepping into a timewarp because the songs have that 80’s LA/ Sunset Strip sleazey feel to them. The over the top solos, solid rythmns and the classic catchy chorus.
A few of the stand outs are tracks by: Hollywood, Dirty Rig, The Deadthings, and Straight Fork. These tracks really jump out at you and really make you take notice. It’s a crying shame that this style of music don’t get the support and recognition it deserves. This is what should be played on Rock n Roll radio instead of the put together clone bands that they play constantly. This is the good stuff, real fun rock music.
Every song on this compilation is worthy of a listen. We need to support this and get it back out there in the mainstream like it was in the 80’s.
