Vanderbuyst are a Dutch Hard Rock Band who formed in 2008 by guitarist Willem Verbuyst (ex-Powervice). In the last few years this band has gained a good fan base whilst bringing the old classic Rock sounds back to the 00’s!

Working with Pieter G. Kloos, [The Devil’s Blood and Motorpsycho] the band went into the studio in 2010 after releasing their EP, with was also released under Ván Records.

This is no doubt a great band and I love the fact they have gone back into the past to bring this album into the future. With their influences coming from bands such as, Rainbow, Van Halen, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Deep Purple and ZZtop, they do have a strong Hard/Classic Rock sound, very much like early NWoBHM, as well as having the influences of Hard Classic Rock from back in the late 70’s early 80’s sound to them. For me, the highlight of this album were the amazing guitar riffs & solo’s which are performed throughout the album. This is a band that has gone back to the basics, and clearly has talent, but with the vocals being only moderate, and becoming to samey with each track and only having basic drumming, the album could’ve been improved bringing more punch to their songs. There are some great, catchy tracks, but I found the album to be lacking something which made me get bored, but is still no doubt, a great effort from the band.

This wasn’t an album for me personally, but if you’re into your basic hard rock, old classic bands, then this will be an album you will enjoy. I personally felt there are better bands of this genre out there!
