Voodoo Highway
Broken Uncle's Inn
October 2012
Released: 2011, goombamusic Rating: 3.5/5 Reviewer: Metal-Rules.com UK Team Oh my, this has to be one of the cheesetastic albums i've ever heard...but I I actually really enjoyed it, I'm suprised to say! Last Autumns Dream are back with their ninth studio album in 9 years ands its surprisingly called Nine Lives. They are sticking to the formulae that has worked so well for them in the past. In places its hits every cliché going for 80's sounding melodic rock; big guitar licks you can hear coming a mile off, lyrics about love and loss, nothing too complicated to be found here, but isn't that kind of the charm? This type of music is, for lots of people, a guilty pleasure; that Def Leopard or Whitesnake album you have on your iPod. That's the vien that this album is in and by Satan they sure do get that sound. The guitars are clean, playing tight, levels are fantastically balanced, who ever thier producer was should give lessons in how to make a recording band sound at thier best. My only real compliant is that it is yet more of the same, middle of the road melodic rock. As I said before, with these guys though that's not such a bad thing. Review by Neurie ![]()
