Undead Creep formed in the summer of 2009 in Palermo, Italy with the band stating they wanted to bring back the spirit of old school death metal the way it was meant to be!
After their first self-titled tape, released by Unholy Domain Records which soon sold-out, the band released their full-length album called ‘The Ever-Burning Torch’ by label Dark Descent Records and on LP by the Italian Iconoclast Records, which they remain on.
The band has a strong horror theme in their image and tracks, but I have to say after afew great songs I did slightly lose interest half-way through. I’m not sure if it’s because the album is too long, as this is a genre that I love and I really do like this album. The band have a dark, raw sound with aggressive vocals and growls, with black metal elements and great guitar riffs, growling bass lines and with a gritty production, which works really well with this band. I wanted to give this band a higher mark…possibly a 4/5 but there is a slight repetitive sound to some of their songs but the Demo tracks included did pick it up and show the progress of the band, I’m glad they were included in this release.
This is a band for the older death metal fans out there and I can image these guys being great live and if they were ever to play in London, I’d be sure to be there!
