Tussen Hun En De Zon
November 2014
Released: 2014, Hammerheart Records
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Tarnkappe are from the Netherlands and they deliever raw, old school black metal with no further interest in high end production.

The band’s debut does not require much from the listener as the ride carries on full speed almost right up until the end until it ends with a beautiful atmospheric instrumental piece. Fans of the cold-hearted rawness black metal can be will find pleasure in Tarnkappe’s attempt to bring what others already bought in the early 90’s. That not being said that the Dutchmen doesn’t know what they are doing cause this is definitely the work of three guys who knows how to play after the correct recipe. But there is not much to Tarnkappe other than your typical harsh black metal.

To say this is a masterpiece that will rock your socks off is a massive overstatement. A pleasure, yes. Interesting and original, no.
