The Wounded
June 2002
Released: 2002, ColdBlood Industries
Rating: 2.5/5
Reviewer: CrashTest

Ever wonder what 80s new wave band The Cure would sound like if they were a little heavier? Me neither, though that’s what it felt like I was listening to as I spun this album a number of times over the past couple weeks. Problem is, The Wounded don’t quite have the level of talent that Robert Smith’s band had back in the day, though they “successfully” duplicate the dreary atmosphere and the whiney vocals. Not my cup of tea, but for those who like atmospheric, melancholy goth metal, have at it.
