Meet The Tall
Released: 2004, n/a
Reviewer: Celtic Bob
OK, first things first. This indie cd came in the mail so therefore if the band takes the time, money and effort to send out a disc it at least deserves to be listened to and reviewed. The cd is not really metal to me but I did give it several listens. Personally I listen to everything from Metal to Blues to Rock so I am not close minded in the least.
After several spins I feel that the cd is not metal but it does have some elements of it in a few of the tracks. The disc seems more experimental and sounds like allot of drum programming and effects are being used. There are also sections with talking and ‘conversation’ pieces in it. There are industrial songs on it as well as electronic dance numbers???
On some of the tracks the musicianship is pretty decent. The vocals are good in places and the band appear to be quite good musicians but the cd is all over the place and a bit hard to take to.
I honestly do not know how to categorize this release let alone see what market they are aiming for. With a bit of direction and focus they could put out a great release.
