The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza
Danza II: Electric Boogaloo
June 2008
Released: 2007, Metal Blade Records Rating: 1.0/5 Reviewer: Waspman Bollocks. From the “aren’t we so droll and witty” band name, down to the inane, meaningless song titles, you can guess what type of music The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza (TTDTDE) plays without even hearing one note. Go ahead and guess, I’ll wait. OK? Well, all of you who said “mathcore” or some variation of that idea – give yourself a cookie. Just don’t eat it before you listen to this CD, otherwise you might just puke it back up again. Needless to say, I don’t like TTDTDE. This “music” is nonsense of the highest order, and not even impressive in a technical sense. Like gee whiz, they use stop/start rhythms and atonal riffs? WOW – welcome the fold of 2800 other bands doing the EXACT same thing. Truly, this is worse than the metalcore and melodic death metal clone problem that’s plaguing metaldom these days. Why? Because at least those bands are coherent. TTDTDE is not, not even in a so bad it’s good kind of way...just plain bad. And annoying. As always, I appreciate the effort that bands like this put in but man, just stop. ![]()
