Tar and Feathers For The Millenium
December 1998
Released: 1998, Heathendoom Music Rating: 3.0/5 Reviewer: EvilG Sweden’s TAR return with an EP that continues in the path set in their pervious release. TAR has taken a page from the Machine Head / Pantera school of metal and have twisted it into their own sound. Strangely enough though, TAR sound nothing like other Swedish bands I’ve heard, nor do they have any of the other European sounds in them. Is that a good thing? Well that's all a matter of opinion. To me I like both styles so no it's not a problem, just different. Again on this release, the drumming is big highpoint. Song-wise the song "Guilty" has a catchy and funny vocal intro and is to me the best track on the CD. The vocals are your basic Panteraish growling/watered down death metal vocals except on the begining of "Counting Down To Doomsday" where the vocals are more melodic and clean. Not always a lot of vocal melody, but there is sure a hell of a lot of fucking aggression and ANGER!!! "I, I AM GUILITY ALL EVIL THAT'S WHAT I AM" Next review: » T.I.R - Heavy Metal ![]()
