In the Shadow of the Inverted Cross
April 2015
Released: 2015, Metal Blade Records
Rating: 5.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Occasionally, a band comes along with an album that you instantly know is something special from the minute you start listening, and that's exactly what Sorcerer have done with In the Shadow of the Inverted Cross.

Sorcerer are not a new band by far, as they originally formed in Stockholm in 1988 and released a couple of demo's, and having re-released these demo's in 2011 are now back with this 8 track album of epic doom. It's impossible to single out one or two songs as it flows effortlessly from beginning to end and leaves you wishing for more. Hauntingly beautiful, with powerful classic metal vocals and huge guitar solo's, with a bit of power metal and symphonic influences thrown in it has perfect balance to keep you listening all the way through without being over the top.

A must for any doom fan, or any metal fan that appreciates clean vocals and lyrics that have a story to tell. I'm pretty sure this will be one of my top five of 2015.
