Hailing from New Jersey, Sonicide have been together in one form or another for the past 8 years. They claim to play metal with "hints of power, prog and doom." Well, you can be the judge of that, as I found neither of these elements amongst the bands 4-track demo. Opener "Death By Sound" has to be one of their earliest tracks they've written, with it's monotone vocals and juvennile chorus. "Changes" sounds like a totally different band, playing safe, straight ahead rock. I'm willing to bet guitarist Alice Le Brecque handles vocals on this one, although hats off to the nice wah-wah guitar work that she serves up. "Breakout" shows a little bit more promise, with a little more bite than the first two tracks. Closer "No Salvation" is the most proming track out of the bunch, featuring a slower tempo, but a darker feel vocal-wise, sounding very 70's. Sonicide have to find a sound and try to refine it, as this 4 track demo is all over the place. As for whether that sound be prog, dooom or power metal is anybodys guess.
