Sons Of Otis
Spacejumbofudge
February 2001
Released: 2000, Mans Ruin Records Rating: 2.5/5 Reviewer: Pete This is a re-release of this Canadian bands debut album, which I featured a lot of when I did my radio show a # of years ago. In general, these guys doom it up big time. Imagine listening to your favourite St. Vitus album on acid and you've got Sons Of Otis. From the stop/go of "Clowns", the bass-laden 10min "Big Muff"(which the first 8 min is just bass & sound effects) and probably the most straight-ahead track "The Truth", Sons of Otis definitely stretch the boundries of doom and psycedelic. A little too self-indulgent for my liking, but sure to please the "stoner rock" generation.
