Sinners Moon
May 2015
Released: 2015, Inverse Music Group
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Sinners Moon are a Slovakian Symphonic metal band in the vein of Nightwish. This is their first album and it is a very solid start. We get a great mix of guitars, keyboards, orchestral compositions, piercing female vocals, growls and deep guttural screaming. The songs are ever changing and manage to bring in folk, classic rock and even some death metal influences.

They are a young band and although embryonic they have managed to produce a very comprehensive and professional offering. The vision is down to guitarist and composer LukeN who orchestrated the whole thing. It started as a project and worked so well he dropped everything to concentrate on it full time. It looks as though this will pay off for him as there is a massive market out there that this band can home in on and exploit. I hope the band gets the push it deserves but the best way for them to get the name out there is to tour. I suspect they will be taking to the road to promote the album and I hope they make it to these shores as I would love to see them live.

The guitar work on this album alone is outstanding, none more so than on the track " Dark Episode". You also get a bonus of having Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica on the outstanding track " My Servant". For me this is the outstanding track on the album. It is very powerful and shows the promise this band have. It also has a real Avenged Sevenfold feel to it.

All in all this is a decent album and anyone who likes Symphonic Metal will not be disappointed. The musicianship it top drawer with some very interesting vocals and a great range of ideas and a huge canvas of genres too choose from. Check them out on facebook and give them a listen.
