Slave To The System
Slave To The System
April 2006
Released: 2006, Spitfire Records Rating: 4.5/5 Reviewer: Celtic Bob This highly anticipated Supergroup (so to speak) does not disappoint at all. Featuring members of Queensryche, Brother Cane and The Alice Cooper Band you know you are getting first class musicianship. They got together and made the record they wanted to make without the input from labels, managers, A&R guys……or any deadlines. There are a dozen high quality songs on this disc, most are upbeat hard rockers with a couple ballads added into the mix. The ballads are simply amazing, especially “Abyss”. From the opening track: “Stigmata” the mood is set and you know you are ready for an all out musical assault. Next up is “Ruby Wednesday” which is one of the best rock tracks written in awhile. The beats are there along with a catchy chorus and some above average vocals. Damon is no slouch on guitar either as his solos bring back an era when ALL good songs had them. The song “Disinfected” with it’s fast paced and steady drums is another of the albums killer cuts. Roman just nails it with a really cool melodic bassline. With all the talent and experience that is found on this recording it is quite amazing that ego’s never clashed and nothing came out of the sessions. Instead they worked together like true pro’s and cranked out an amazing record. ![]()
