Severe Torture
Feasting on Blood
November 2001
Released: 2001, HammerHeart Records
Rating: 2.7/5
Reviewer: El Cid

Well, you get the album and you see song titles like “Vomiting Christ” and “Feces for Jesus” (not that I don’t love phonetic games but come on…) so you must agree with me that it’s pretty obvious what to expect. It’s classic, old school, Cannibal Corpse clone Death Metal. Severe Torture is pretty much your average Death Metal band, tremolo picking a-go-go, blast beats, growling vocals, it’s Cannibal Corpse I tell you…

On the positive side of thing for this Dutch band, their songwriting ability is excellent, The guitars are super fast and the bass keeps up with them, the drumming isn’t half bad and the song structures are very interesting at times and their musical abilities leave nothing to be desired. As far as production goes there are no problems at all, it’s all very good.

If you’re a BRUTAL Death Metal fan, you’ll probably love this CD, otherwise you really should avoid this release.
