Seasoning The Obese
November 2000
Released: 1999, Howling Bull America
Rating: 5.0/5
Reviewer: Pete

A bonus track on the import version of Bigger Than The Devil, this is actually a 7" single with all-girl Japanese band Yellow Machine Gun. A combination of hardcore/thrash, these girls kick serious ass. I’m not familiar with them, but I believe they played some shows with SOD in Japan, hence this project. Yellow Machine Gun spew forth two brutal tracks on this single.

Then, there's the mighty S.O.D., spewing forth their comical tribute to Slayer. "The apple of my eye, an apple in your mouth, the king and I will feast, seasoning the obese" bellows Billy Milano as the rest of the band do their best Slayer imitation a la SOD style. Milano steals the show as he yells "do you wanna fry!!!!" just before the solo break. Hilarious!!! Scott Ian, who has proclaimed his admiration for Slayer in many interviews, does a damn good Kerry King. The song is typical balls-out SOD, containing riffing and phrasing of such songs as Angel of Death, Seasons and other Slayer gems. A must for any SOD/Slayer fan. Sweeeeet!!!!!!!
