Sick Of It All
Death To Tyrants
June 2006
Released: 2006, Century Media/EMI Rating: 4.5/5 Reviewer: Anders Sandvall This legendary NYC Hardcore act have been in the business for 20 years and have influenced an entire HC generation with their powerful and trademark aggressive music. Sick of it All are one of my absolute favorite HC acts of all time and with their stunning new album DEATH TO TYRANTS they once again prove that they still are the leaders of this genre. Even though the guys have refined the music on DEATH TO TYRANTS, you can still expect being knocked down by angry, aggressive, fast, and also ultra-political music. When the album is over, I felt as if I was run over by a tank or something just as violent because this album is all about full speed ahead with no calm passages. Earlier through the years hardcore stood a bit outside the “regular” metal genres but have now is more integrated with the harder scenes and by that more of it is available to the bigger crowds. This album and band will surely gain both buyers and fans as a result of this current trend. This brilliant album was recorded in Atomic Studios by Dean Baltulonis and it was mixed by none other than the now very famous Tue Madsen in his own studio Antfarm in Denmark. The production enhances all the proper things that an album of this caliber ought to have. Both the music and lyrics are in perfect symbiosis and are equally angry, kicking and screaming. The hardcore scene’s most reliable masters deliver political statements and nose burns with this 15 track album. It’s jammed with world class music and this is hardcore in it’s purest and most genuine form. It’s impossible to pick out any favorite track, all songs are killer tracks...believe me.
