September Murder
After Every Setting Sun
January 2008
Released: 2007, Self-released
Rating: 3.0/5
Reviewer: Luxi Lahtinen

In need of more heavy, in-yer-face death metal that will punish your ass gently? Well, you may not want to look any further as German September Murder have come up with 4 songs for their self-released debut EP, AFTER EVERY SETTING SUN, that are all loaded of tools for a comfortable self-punishment.

September Murder play their death metal well, keeping things somewhat technical, but still simple enough - kind of making sure that a listener doesn´t sink into a bottomless sea of hundreds of thousands of different chords by over-doing, or exaggerating things too much. The band´s riffs are all around crushingly heavy, tempo changes are used a lot, playing is thoroughly energetic - and overall you really cannot blame on these guys for raising a violent ad vicious death metal storm on this pretty promising sounding EP. I gotta admit, especially the EP´s title track, "After Every Setting Sun", rips and roars through very irresistible, also working out as a perfect closer tune for the EP and leaving something for people to look forward to from them in the future. Maybe you also wanna give ´em a fair try? Tell them also Luxi from recommended them first to all of you hungry death metal maniacs out there... ;o)
