Seasons of the Wolf
Nocturnal Revelation
April 2002
Released: 2002, Earth Mother Music
Rating: 4.2/5
Reviewer: Cid

I remember checking out EvilG’s review of this band’s previous effort LOST IN HELL and wanting to check it out immediately. I must say I was very impressed with the quality of the music displayed by this Florida based outfit.

Well, time has come again to review their work! NOCTURNAL REVELATION is a monster of an album! The vocal performance deserves particular attention as it has improved by miles and is now truly amazing.

If you’re looking for comparisons with other bands, I’d find it very hard to point out anything similar. I must admit though that at times, this band reminds a lot of older Savatage. The general ambiance for the album is a really gloomy mosaic that showcases a dark and very well arranged set of tracks that at times make you feel even “doomy”.

The bottom line is that these guys need much more distribution since it’s so hard to get their material over to Europe if they have to rely only on themselves. I hope they’ll get the support they deserve and if not then you metalheads out there can get this beautiful CD for a modest $12 at the band’s homepage.
