Seventh Calling
Prelude To Madness
October 2009
Released: 2009, Heaven & Hell Records Rating: 3.0/5 Reviewer: Robert Williams Seventh Calling formerly hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota and now calling Las Vegas, Nevada their stomping ground offer forth a three track EP appropriately titled PRELUDE TO MADNESS; that will serve as a precursor to their Heaven and Hell Records debut in early 2010. All three songs contained on PRELUDE TO MADNESS were intended for the now scrapped Deliverance full length that was supposed to be put out earlier this year through Sweden's Melissa Records. After a series of lineup changes the Deliverance album was indefinitely shelved, save for these three tunes; kind of making this neat little EP a collector's item of sorts. The PRELUDE TO MADNESS EP also contains a nice addition with the added bonus of a music video for "Blood of the Divine" Musically you can expect some midtempo thrashy rhythms, some well executed melodic leadwork, semi gruff midrange vocals from lead singer Steve Handel and a pretty tight rhythm section to boot. It's pretty obvious that this is a well determined and focused metal band. I'll be looking forward to hearing more from this group. ![]()
