Scars Of Tomorrow
Rope Tied To The Trigger
April 2004
Released: 2004, Victory Records Rating: 3.0/5 Reviewer: Lord of the Wasteland Scars of Tomorrow’s new CD, ROPE TIED TO THE TRIGGER, is the perfect blend of metalcore, east coast hardcore and thrash metal. The band combines Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Deftones and Meshuggah and adds their own Southern California influences to the mix. While they aren’t exactly breaking new ground with their music, they do it well enough to at least stand out from the pack. “To Watch You Burn,” “Abandonment” and “As We Choke” provide some killer riffage and a tight rhythm section. The vocals are of the aggressive, hostile and bellowing sort with well-timed wails, which is nothing extraordinary or original but somehow these guys manage to make it seem fresh. This isn’t sensitive emo crap or music from a bunch of pretty boy video models, either. Scars of Tomorrow are definitely pit-worthy and their music is for the crowd who likes to mess it up, bang their hands and mosh. KILLER KUTS: “To Watch You Burn,” “Abandonment,” “As We Choke” ![]()
