Here they come out of the blue. Finnish SATAN’S FALL are realeasing their first effort called SEVEN NIGHTS. This is an EP (I think so) that set the bar really high and the rest of the so called NWOTHM bands. This EP contains 3 powerful songs, ‘Poisonhead’, ‘Steel Highway’ and ‘Seven Nights’.
Sound wise, SATAN’S FALL show up that they're very concerned with the production values, recording themselves and achieving a perfect mix between an old school sound and a perfecty balanced and powerful ensemble (I imagine many hours there listening to the masters Birch, Wagener, Allom, Tsangarides, Norman...).
As far as the tracks concerns, the opener “Poisonhead” is a dynamic and strong track that answers the question what SATAN’S FALL music is all about. “Steel Highway” is another speed metal storm that is going to blow your mind and things kick off with the zippy and speedy “Seven Nights” which sounds like hell. Speed metal technique is incorporated into punchy, melodic and anthemic songs that have the same lawless bravado that defines the likes of ‘Executioners Song’ and ‘Evil Invaders’ by Razor. I don’t know why, these tracks reminds me a lot of Razor stuff. And That’s good!
Hope these guys will have a couple of hidden aces in their sleeves in the near future!
