Steel Horse
Raise Your Fist
January 2009
Released: 2008, NA
Rating: 1.5/5
Reviewer: Bruce Sanchez

All the way from Spain comes Steel Horse with their four song EP, RAISE YOUR FIST.

I am usually underwhelmed when it comes to anything power metal and RAISE YOUR FIST is no exception. It’s not my preconceived bias against the genre that holds me back from liking this EP; it’s still the EP itself. Take for example these lyrics from the title track of the album: “Riffs of guitar leaves you scars electrical magic is filling the air”. Songs about heavy metal and how awesome it is are just ridiculous. Always have been, and always will be. Anyway, the EP doesn’t get any better from there. There’s another song about being a phoenix or something, a slower ballad anthem song, and a song about a lady with wild power. Nothing too inspiring or anything that makes me want to fly on a dragon’s back to the summit of a mountain to face a horde of unbelievers. So there you go. On a plus side, the production is actually really good.

Still, skip it.
