November 2005
Released: 2005, Sanctuary
Rating: 1.5/5
Reviewer: Evil Rocker

I am not going to spend a lot of time on this review because this album is barely listenable to me. It just lays there and does nothing much like…ah but I digress! ;) I have been a fan of STRATOVARIUS and still find "Visions" to be a tremendous CD. What happened? Well I have read all about the problems with this band and the well documented incidents that took place over the last year.

To be fair, this album is actually an improvement of the last two because it actually has some riffs and tempo to it. But even the "hit" opening track is a simplistic, boring, repetitive radio style hard rock piece. "Gypsy in me" harkens back to some older material a bit but again it is unremarkable. The longest track, "Götterdämmerung (Zenith Of Power)" is OK and may be the best track on the album. But in relation to other older STARTOVARIUS albums, it falls far short.

That's it, no further comments from me. This will appeal to die-hard fans of STRATOVARIUS only.
