Ratt

September 1999
Released: 1999, Portrait Records
Rating: 5.0/5
Reviewer: Pete

What a disappointment!

Recently signed to hairspray heaven (Jon Klodner's Portrait Records), Ratt are back with their debut for this label. On this album they've had the assistance of outside writers, and it shows. It's not Ratt. Mediocre at best, nothing sticks out after repeated listens, unlike material from albums like Out Of The Cellar & Invasion of Your Privacy. "Luv Sick "& "All the Way" stand up on their own but the forced "We Dont Belong" just don't cut the mustard. If you were a fan of Detonator & Collage, you may find comfort here. If you wanna do yourself a real favor, check out the first e.p and the three albums that followed: Out Of The Cellar, Invasion of Your Privacy, and Dancing Undercover.
