Resurrect The Machine
Uncover The Truth
May 2017
Released: 2017, Minotauro Records
Rating: 3.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Resurrect the Machine is a group out of Los Angeles that sound like they are a part of the original Bay Area Metal scene. “Unlock the Machine”, is a re-release of their 2014 debut album, although it sounds like the album could have been released in 1984.

“Unlock the Machine”, is oozing with nods to the early NWOBHM sound and features some blistering guitar courtesy of Andre Makina. The Vocals on the album are exactly what you would expect with a “Retro” thrash band. During the 9 tracks presented hear you will find yourself often singing along and throwing up the horns.

The only problem here is that there is too much “Retro” Metal coming out today. While some groups do a fantastic job at this, (Night Demon, Holy Grail) it is hard for a band to stand out from the crowd at this point. Resurrect the Machine fails to have that “Hook” that sets them apart from the rest of their genre.

However, if you are a fan of the new “Retro” Metal movement, this album is definitely worth checking out.
