Quiet Riot
Rehab
November 2006
Released: 2006, Chavis Records Rating: 3.0/5 Reviewer: Celtic Bob Kevin and Frankie return with yet another disc bearing the Quiet Riot moniker. Why it is mainly DuBrow’s distinct vocals that listeners identify with there is still that certain sound element that makes the music itself clearly Quiet Riot. Being a fan of the first couple of popular albums (METAL HEALTH and CONDITION CRITICAL) I have sort of knew that they were still playing. I had really enjoyed their previous effort GUILTY PLEASURE so I was looking forward to this release. After putting it on I was quick to realize that DuBrow still sound’s the same and the elements that make the distinctive sound are there for the most part. The songs themselves tend to be lacking for the most part. There are a few interesting guitar solo’s and Frankie’s drumming is phenomenal as usual. This alone cannot save the disc. The best track (and only memorable one) on the disc is “It Sucks To Be You”. This song features some of the excellent drumming and guitar work I just mentioned. The remainder of the cd falls flat is relatively boring and predictable. Hopefully next time around they will get Carlos and Rudy back and give the fans the lineup they grew to love. ![]()
