As soon as I popped this in I was in pain…..pop rock drivel with ultra light and wimpy “angelic” female vocals, ringy dingy light hardly distorted guitars, ugh….yuck. The PR for this release boasts that the band opened for The Gathering on 2001 for the German tour. What a nightmare tour that would be for me! I’d be in a coma or asleep within minutes if I had to be subjected to this kind of ultra slow, un-metal and boring music for more then one song. This band makes a pop rock band like No Doubt seem like brutal death metal. To be fair to Pale Forest I actually checked out every song on the CD to see if there were any redeeming qualities. I can tell you that for a fan of heavy metal there are none. I found myself hitting the fast forward button a number of times in an attempt to end the sonic torture. I was surprised to see a label like Listenable release something like this. God this is awful….sorry folks nothing at all listenable here!!!!
