Pestilential Shadows
September 2012
Released: 2011, Séance Records
Rating: 3.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

These Australian hell mongers dish out thick and filthy Black Metal by the bucket load, ticking all the essential necro boxes along the way and as fantastic as it is, it feels a bit too familiar, not fresh and exciting like a current band should be. Had Depths been released in the early 90s, then jaws would be firmly upon the floor, but all these years later most tricks in the book have been tried and Pestilential Shadows aren’t bringing anything new to the table.

This is a bit of a kick in the teeth for the band, they’re shit hot, a fire and brimstone kind of shit hot, they do everything a Black Metal band should do, everything is spot on, but it just lacks that freshness or that edge that makes them stand out.
