Perfact Crime
Promo CD
February 2001
Released: 2000, Independent
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: Pete

Hailing from Germany, Perfact Crime seem to be influenced by classic power metal, featuring strong musianship and even stronger voacls by Dirk Stuhmer. The CD opens with a snippet of a conversation between Sherlock Holms and Watson(?), Breaking into the track "Perfect Crime" easily a track that could be found on a Malmsteen album during the Joe Lynn Turner era, reminding one of Rainbow. "Inner Strength", probably my fave on the disc, just screams for major label attention. Huge Rainbow influence felt here, with strong vocals and some nice keyboard work to boot. "Face To Face" is a demo which could be a throwaway, sounding too much like Dokken. Maybe when it's cleaned up it'll be more promising. "Hands of Fate" is very reminisent of latter day Savatage, featuring some sweet piano/vocal work by Dirk Stuhmer and Denis Scheither respectively. The live track "Loneliness" sounds like Europe if they had balls with a hint of Savatage thrown in for good measure...Oh, I mentioned Rainbow being a big influence on this cd didn't I?? Well,it just so happens that they close out the disc with a live version of Rainbow's "Kill The King". Check out their website at:
