Pete Sandberg
BACK IN BUSINESS
July 2002
Released: 1998, Bluestone Music Rating: 5.0/5 Reviewer: Anders Sandvall Hidden Gem ReviewPete Sandberg is a very productive person and he has done a lot of records and projects, such as Silver Seraph with Rickard Andersson from Majestic. Pete also has a solo project called Opus Atlantica and he is going to release a new solo album after the summer. The music on the album BACK IN BUSINESS can be described as soft melodic hard rock. Pete sings like a god. There are 13 songs on the album and each one is very good. A few songs that stand out a little bit more are the ballad “Stay a While,” and some faster songs like “When the Night Comes,” “Little Lover,” “Big Bad Rap” and “A December Monday.” Pete had also done a cover of the song “Closer to Heaven” by FM, and I think Pete does it better than the original group did. The musicians on the album are: Patrik Alm--bass Fredrik Bergengren--guitar Carl Colt--drums Tommy Falk--keyboard, organ Pete has written almost all lyrics and all the music as well. The production is great--you can hear everyone--and the album also has a great set of backing vocals that back-up Pete's main vocals. This is one of my favourite records even though it’s a bit softer hard rock with some blues influences, and it also has a lot of ballads on it. On this album Pete shows off that he is a great singer and a really good musician and lyric writer. He deserves all the success he can possibly get.
