If there’s one thing I love it’s a hotter than shit black metal band, so it’s just my luck that I’ve got a furious slab of black metal dug from the very depths of hell itself to set this day off on the right foot.
With label mates such as Archgoat, Behexen, Khrom and a shit-tonne of other bands in cahoots with the devil it is no surprise that Pact dish out Black Metal just as it was meant to be, dirty, dank and not giving a damn what anyone else thinks. The drums fire away at 1,000mph with uncompromising intensity that creatr a bleak backdrop which the guitars sit on top off, as they rip and roar their way through track after track before the vocals growl their way through the mix being the final masterstroke to this utter dystopia.
There’s always the risk that such a bombardment of sound can carelessly slip into an incomprehensible fuzzy dump of noise that has ruined many albums in their quest for maximum necro-points, but Pact keep the sound dripping with distortion whilst retaining the clarity to make sure their efforts can do the full damage that they intended, this is a must for anyone who likes real Black Metal.
