´Oranssi Pazuzu´s music has a taste of Norwegian black metal and Finnish kraut-psychedelia…´ True. They nailed it pretty much by themselves in that one line.
I was trying to keep this disc away from my CD-player the best I could – and as many days as I could, but then finally I collected all my bravery one mentally disorganized day and decided to check it out – just for my own curiosity´s sake. Should have left it there - untouched, unchecked and alone.
Disturbing and sickeningly hallucinogenic. Made me all wonder why I ended up taking this trip in the first place? I may be close-minded as far as metal music overall is concerned, but this has nothing to do with metal. Harsh and disturbed black metal vocals alone (the only thing connecting them to the term ´metal´ somehow) do not save them from falling into the endless pit of countless and worthless releases that today´s record industry is producing nonstop, all the time.
I do not know what type of drugs one should use to come up with this disturbing and negatively insane material as these Finnish mentally highly intoxicated, mushroom-smoking tearaways in Oranssi Pazuzu have done on their debut album MUUKALAINEN PUHUU (“Stranger Speaks” in English, but I cannot hear him/her clear enough). But what´s already certain, this stuff wasn´t directed for me at all – not a bit. Terrible and disturbing indeed...
1 point for their brave attempts to make this kind of stuff on a record though. That´s quite an achievement in itself, I guess.
