Open Burn
Open Burn
September 2017
Released: Janu, Independent
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: UK Team

From the newly formed band Open Burn comes their debut EP which is self titled. The band was formed as a side project of LETHAL bandmates in 2015, but they were officially formed in 2016 with the addition of another bandmate from Lethal.

Being a mainly power/heavy metal band, you would normally expect influences from some major bands, well in my opinion, the Iron Maiden influence is totally inevitable. In some parts you might think that you are listening to Iron Maiden since the vocals and some parts of the riffs really resemble them. Some of the songs are slower, we may call them partly ballads, because the distorted sound of guitars with fast solos are still there and you can’t define them as full ballads.

The compositions from the band is very good, the addition of the drums to the guitars and vocals is brilliant. The only mark I have is the enormous appearance of other bands influence. Since they are hitting the studio, writing new materials for 2017, they may surprise us with something better, as a new style.
