Narnia
Enter The Gate
June 2006
Released: 2006, Massacre Records/Sound Pollution Rating: 3.5/5 Reviewer: Anders Sandvall Here comes some Christian metal from Sweden’s most successful act in this genre. Don’t be frightened with the words “Christian” and “metal” in the same sentence because ENTER THE GATE is not bad at all. Narnia’s music is extremely well played with hints of melodic hard rock and progressive metal. Both Christian and Carl-Johan have written the very solid material and the quality of all the material is on a very high level...if it weren’t for the Christian message though. I think ENTER THE GATE mostly appeals to fans who are already hooked. I think that the music impresses more than the lyrics and maybe the album feels a little too long at 50 minutes. But as a whole, Narnia shows that they are one of the greater acts in their genre. A few shows have already been done in Sweden but more are yet to come. The guys are booked to do shows in Europe later this year. If you don’t look at the message of the album, and instead focus on the musical part of ENTER THE GATE, this is not too bad. My favorite tracks are “Into This Game”, “People Of The Bloodred Cross”, “Another World”, and “This Is My Life”. Labels: http://www.massacre-records.com AND http://www.soundpollution.se ![]()
