Power And Greed
August 2013
Released: 2010, Indie
Rating: 4.0/5
Reviewer: Emidio Vaz (Guest Writer/Canada)

Canada has always had a strong hold on Metal music and this band from London, Ontario, that was formed in 2007 by Rainer & Cindy 'C' Wiechmann, is proof of that. After departing from 80's hair Metal band Helix they formed Nail and it became evident that Nail has a sound all it's own with sharpe hard Metal progression. Nail musicians are very talented veterans that display razor edge Metal that dignafies their latest work POWER AND GREED

From the first track "King of Fools", there is a progression of attacking instruments, fierce riff's giving way for distinctive vocals that lead us to "Saving Face" with a stronger bass playing and giving that numb feeling that has a hold on the Metal. The next track "Superhuman" has the high power hitting of the skins and velocity of the vocals along with the accompaniment of the lead & bass guitar bring it all together to a well fulled Metal dimension. "History" a Metal piece that distinguishes ones past & looking towards opptism that's delivered by a very balanced Heavy Metal band that has the vocals being so clear and precise that brings it in to true Heavy Metal for front.

On we go to "Bottom Feeder" with thunderous back ground that dictates Heavy Metal that's so well timed with furry riffs the plucking of the bass & pounding of the skins giving it so much Metal meaning."Last Days" more of a melodic piece in comparison with other tracks on the CD but the state of mind being all Metal. "The Devil You Know" has a demanding introduction channeling leads with bass guitar and the precise vocals of "C" (who's no taller than 3-feet but has 5-foot lung expansion!) and more fluidity of the drums making it a bold, well oiled Heavy Metal song. That takes us to "Skin" the next track on the CD having the same effect, continous Metal purity on POWER AND GREED. Since the beginning it flows into the title track "Power & Greed" another bold piece of Metal that is more aggressive then some of the previous tunes, and the last track "Less Than Zero" gives us what the entire CD has accomplished in Pure Heavy Metal with percision approach when it comes to delivering of symbolic Metal.

"Nail" is a very established Metal band that knows how to channel their music between riffs & chords bringing out the velocity in the vocals that tower over the defying Metal that's being pumped out with the rolling of the skins pushing it all to a Heavy Metal obssesion.
