Power and Greed
October 2010
Released: 2010, Independent
Rating: 4.0/5
Reviewer: Celtic Bob

London, Ont based Prog Metallers Nail return with the follow up to their self titled debut. For this release we see the addition of bassist Darcy who joined the group just as the debut was being released. To those who have seen the band live can agree that they are a solid and tight band.

POWER AND GREED is quite similar to the debut in the way that the songs are not structured as conventionally as allot of the Metal out there. The songs are fresh and unique yet not so different as to alienate the Metal fans and make them go WTF? Lyrically the album doesn’t appear to be as dark as the first one and it takes a few spins to get into it whereas it’s predecessor grabbed you from the moment you popped it into your CD player.

Many great albums take awhile to grow on you and this is one of them. The perfect follow up to a killer debut. Nail is a band you should check out if you already haven’t.
