This is the second full-length album from the German death metallers ‘Necros Christos’, after their debut, 2007’s release’ Triune Impurity Rites’.
Straight off its clearly established ‘Doom of the Occult’ does not disappoint, with this being one dark, and disturbing Death/Doom Metal album. Fantastic dark gloomy Church organ sounding intro’s which I just love, this album has 25 tracks in total, but with 9 actual full tracks, the rest are short instrumentals.
This has been a very highly anticipated album and I expect to see high reviews within its release this month. They have an unique sound and style to them, whilst combining deep death metal vocals with a touch of the occult, the title kind of gives this away.
There is no question this band have talent, with fantastic guitar solos, smooth riffs & fantastic drumming, with a touch of doom metal thrown in.
Each track is unique and held my interest throughout the album, with some songs starting slow and dark with others kicking in with fast death metal riffs and some interesting intro instrumentals to the songs, some quite dark & very atmospheric. There was not much variation in vocal range though, but the versatility in music makes up for this. The production of this album is fantastic.
This is one album all Death/Doom metallers seriously need to hear!
