Mork Grying
Maelstorm Chaos
December 2001
Released: 2001, No Fashion/MNW
Rating: 3.0/5
Reviewer: Arto Lehtinen

"One of the most brutal and violent black metal releases ever.." revealing on the back of the cover. Well it doesn't need to go any further than just take a look at their label mates Dark Funeral in question as they already put out one of the most nihilistic violent brutal B.M releases some time ago that hell's gates got opened forever.

Maelstrom Chaos doesn't actually stand for the most ultimate form of black metal as having a lot of mid tempo tunes filled up with peaceful acoustic guitar parts to bring more varieties to the structure of the songs. The album ain't the 100% speed demon with the full speed maximum throughout the album with the most extreme skillsaw sounding guitar sounds, instead Mork Grying have paid attention to have more harmony and melodies to their tracks to find and get more varieties to the structure of their battle hymn. Even though the album ain’t the most nihilistic b.m. output, but it is obvious it is a worth to pick up to check out.
