Misery Inc.
May 2002
Released: 2001, Independent
Rating: 4.0/5
Reviewer: Pete

Misery Inc hail from Helsinki, Finland and offer us three songs of different eras on their first promo cd CHAINS.

"Pray", which opens this 3-song cd, has that Sentenced feel to it, especially in the vocals. These guys actually claim that this is how Sentenced should sound today, and I can't argue that fact as "Pray" is a throwback to the DOWN-era Sentenced (my fave)--very melodic yet heavy, with vocalist Jukkis a dead ringer for Sentenced Sami Lupakka. Next up is "Chains," a track that plods along in the Metallica-vein and could've actually fit right in on Metallica's LOAD album. Nice guitar work from Janne and Teemu. Third and final track "Darkest Night" picks up the pace sounding like a heavier power metal track with its double kicks compliments of Joonas. Very impressive considering these guys have only been together in this particular band since October 2001. These three tracks are definitely a sign of good things to come.......Check 'em out at
