Continuing to buck any form of trends or fashion with a middle finger firmly poised in the air, Den and his Misconducters are back for another round with their latest effort, the aptly titled BOUNDLESS. Easily their most consistent and accessible record yet; BOUNDLESS merges the band’s classic thrash/punk/core crossover with flavors of rhythmic percussion and traditional metal posturing.

The seven tracks on BOUNDLESS defy simple genre descriptions; think Angus Young jamming on some Exploited tunes and you’ll get a sense of what’s up. While the tunes are generally in step with Misconducters’ prior body of work, there’s a new level of maturity and complexity in the mix this time around. Tracks like “Pave the Way” and “Hunter and Prey” recall some Maiden-esque gallops and proto thrash crunch, while the instrumental title track showcases some surprisingly funkier moments, courtesy of the phenomenal rhythm section of Brisa and Vitão. “Lurch” even suggests some proggy inclinations towards the end of the track.

Collectively, the seven tracks on BOUNDLESS offer up a ton of energy and appeal that just feels good to listen to. Hard rockin’, angst spewin’, and skankin’ through the circle pit against the tide, Misconducters are nothing if not reliable. Hopefully, BOUNDLESS gets the trio one step closer to the audience they deserve when it’s released in February. Check out the band’s website for info and samples.
