Meliah Rage
The Deep And Dreamless Sleep
October 2007
Released: 2007, Locomotive Records/Sound Pollution
Rating: 3.0/5
Reviewer: Anders Sandvall

Meliah Rage has been active since 1987 and is led by Anthony Nichols from Boston, USA. The band has gone through some member changes and the newcomers in the band are Souza on lead vocals and Lourie on bass. Their music can best be described as traditional heavy metal that’s both technical and well-played. And if you’re into heavy metal I can guarantee you’re going to appreciate this.

The playing time at 40 minutes feels decent and the 8 tracks are all solid with strong hooks and catchy choruses. It’s hard to pick out any favorite song because all of them are really strong. It’s easier to name the ones that don’t make it, and luckily there is only one song that doesn’t make the cut: “The Deep and Dreamless Sleep”, which is a very slow song that lacks heavy riffs with another vocalist who only roars in the choruses.

Meliah Rage has released a solid album which surprised me that I had never heard the band before. It’s a great heavy metal album for all headbangers out there and I strongly recommend it to you all.
