Merzbow
Dharma
April 2002
Released: 2002, Hydra Head Records Rating: 1.0/5 Reviewer: Waspman Never have I heard such shite. I’ve never heard anything by Masami Akita (a.k.a. Merzbow) before, and hopefully I never will again. Never mind sending this to Metal-Rules!, this isn’t even music, let alone metal! Pure, unadulterated crap from beginning to end, DHARMA is the product of someone who is obviously far too bored with their life and has decided to take out their anger on the world via shitty samples and static. As a matter of fact, I won’t even try and delve into a musical description of this disc; reason being that there ain’t any music to be heard. I know that there are people out there who swear by noise merchants like Merzbow, well, I’m not one of them. All I hear on this disc is noise (egads, I sound like my grandmother!) that isn’t worth my time. See ya!
