Masterlast
Think of the Day
October 2004
Released: 2004, Everything Else Productions
Rating: 1.0/5
Reviewer: Waspman

Sigh. Apparently I’ve got yet another band here that doesn’t bother to check out METAL-Rules.com before sending in their demo and wasting their, and more importantly, my time. First of all, you guys aren’t metal. No, no, be quiet, you aren’t. Having a distorted guitar does not instantly qualify you as metal. Secondly, when your sound is so clearly influenced by modern rock and mallcore, you sure as hell ain’t metal. In fact, let’s list the ways that this disc isn’t metal:

1) The music is obviously influenced by mallcore with “mosh” riffs all over the place.

2) There’s a lame chick vocalist trying to look like Karyn Crisis (also not metal) and sounds like the guy from Disturbed. Your act is played out, knock it off.

3) All your lyrics are all “oh, poor pity me” and “I’m going to kick your ass!” In other words, “angst”-ridden. This means whining, also not metal.

4) You have some clown named C-Drike in your band who’s responsible for “machines”. The less said about this the better.

I will however grant you one point for “I Ache” because it’s just a good catchy song. Write some more like this and less like mallcore and you might get somewhere. Not anywhere on this website, but somewhere.
