This is only a 2 song demo so this review will be brief. Mankind were formed in Sweden (surprise surprise) in 1999. They play a mixture of power and classic metal that reminds me of Yngwie Malmsteen in places. Like I said this will be short. Track # 1 is "One Time" which is more in the vein of powermetal. Vocalist Magnus Lindblom has a very powerful voice and instantly makes this song enjoyable. Guitarists Jon Bjork and Johan Liefvendahl certainly know their instruments and just shred on this track. The solo alone makes this track great listening. Up next is "Poison My Heart". This is a more classic metal track but still shreds nonetheless. This track features a very good vocal performance by Lindblom. He has the voice to help put Mankind over the edge. Again Bjork and Liefvendahl throw in some great Yngwiesque guitar runs and some great guitar harmonies. What a tandem.

Mankind have the beginnings of a great band. This demo is only the tip if the iceberg. The production on this CD is ok but a good production would better showcase the bands talents. Overall a good first effort. Check them out at
